The death of Heath Ledger has made things a bit tricky for the marketing staff at Warner Bros. before the July 18 release of The Dark Knight. The director Christopher Nolan had earlier stated that the film centered largely on Ledger’s character. And it is being said that Ledger’s footage will be used extensively in the promotion of the film but what would be interesting to see is the fate of the film because it’s not the first time that a film of a deceased actor is being released. USA Today highlighted the dilemma of the marketers here.

It will be interesting to see how they market the movie now, not many people would be able to watch it so soon after his death.

There is nothing being said as of now about The Dark Knight by TDK team. Something tells me it would not have been like this if he was alive. If he was alive, I think there might have been a lot more focus on the Joker.
