A blog post on IPL was due for a long time but I wanted to see the real action on field rather than speculating on the news and all the trade of players (which makes me sick). The inaugural match between the Shahrukh Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders and Vijay Mallya’s Bangalore Royal Challengers turned out to be one sided affair courtesy a great knock by Kiwi wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum for the Khan’s team. It was interesting to see the companies like Vodafone, Onida, Godrej bringing out the new advertisements especially for the IPL season. It was also nice to see the Hutch pug back in the Vodafone campaign and Godrej adopting some color. Overall, a nice start for everybody except the Bangalore Royal Challengers who lost the match with a huge margin. Maybe they spent their whole money on buying the team and bringing in american cheerleader troop and ran out of it for buying good players. A blogpost on techcrunch about IPL received raving comments about a firm buying online rights of Indian Premier League. A website giving you a chance to win prizes by creating your own team has also come up. Many websites with forums dedicated to the league were already preparing the ambiance for the launch of t20 phenomenon in India. So I wont talk much on IPL except that there’s something big happening here in India which will definitely change the face of cricket forever. I am looking forward to see something in the league of Super bowl in India except the wardrobe malfunction (seriously!).

They will get up and reach the top of the tables. No worries about that. The team is in safe hands of SRK, Saurav and John.
